11 Jan 2013 - 20:00
Alanta GA
We’ll have a regular open mic and a slam. Our feature is Tatyana Brown. Poets, musicians, and improv welcome on the open mic (5 minutes per person). Sign up at the door for the open mic or slam. A poetry slam is a competitive poetry reading; poets are judged by 5 randomly chosen audience members. We need 5 judges for the slam. Cover: $5. Doors open at 7:30; starts at 8:00. Bring your art and join us!
TATYANA BROWN is a Bay-area poet who ranked 4th in the nation at the 2011 Individual World Poetry Slam. She is the founding Captain of The Lit Slam, a San Francisco-based, live-audience- curated literary journal–the only show/publication of its kind in existence. She also holds the distinct honor of winning the longest consecutive string of XXX Haiku Deathmatch Championships at Oakland’s notorious variety show, Tourettes Without Regrets.
